My name is Julie Hurd. I am in General Psychology with Ms. Clausen. For a project on abnormal psychology, I have made this blog about autism. It will include facts, myths, and different peoples' thoughts on autism.
Do different races have different rates of children being diagnosed with autism? I think that it would be interesting to find this out.
ReplyDeleteDo you know anyone that has autism? If you do what is your reaction to this?
ReplyDeleteDear Nick,
ReplyDeleteNo, race is not a factor in autism. Gender in fact is (boys more commonly are diagnosed the girls) but race does not usually play a part. And Maira, yes I do know someone with autism. At first it was hard to not treat them differently. But now, I try to treat them the same but have a higher level of tolerance for their behavior.
